Photo of the Day: Niches and Ruts

There’s an interesting article today on Digital Photography School about Photography Niches, Grooves and Ruts, written by David duChemin.

Often, I find myself photographing the same things and using the same technique over and over, so much so that I failed to realize that it was my own niche that got me into the rut I was in a few days back. Sure, I still take a lot of shots with shallow depths of field and lots of bokeh — my niche — but for today’s photo, I decided to get out of my comfort zone and do something different.
